When configuring a bundle, the component search is global — it finds SKUs from any catalogue in your account, not just the current one. This lets you create bundles from products managed in completely separate catalogues.
What is a Cross-Catalogue Bundle?
A cross-catalogue bundle contains components from different catalogues. For example, you might manage Hoodies in a "Mens Tracksuits" catalogue and Crop Tops in a "Womens Activewear" catalogue. A gift set bundle can pull components from both.
How the Global Search Works
When you open the Configure Bundle modal and type in the search field:
- WMS360 searches all catalogues in your account simultaneously
- Results are grouped by catalogue so you can easily identify each component's source
- Click any result to add it as a component — regardless of which catalogue it belongs to
When to Use Cross-Catalogue Bundles
- Gift sets: Combine products from different product ranges (e.g. candle from Home + soap from Bath)
- Starter kits: Bundle items from different categories (e.g. T-shirt from Clothing + mug from Accessories)
- Mixed-range bundles: Create seasonal or promotional bundles from across your entire inventory
- Kitting: Assemble components from different suppliers or product lines
Stock Calculation
Cross-catalogue bundles calculate stock the same way as any other bundle: min(Component Stock ÷ Quantity) across all components, regardless of which catalogue they come from.
Important Notes
- The search field searches across all catalogues — there is no need to switch between catalogues
- Bundle stock updates automatically when any component's stock changes
- Each component retains its own catalogue, pricing, and individual stock management
