FAQ: Inventory Sync & Stock Management

Frequently asked questions about inventory sync, stock management, and overselling prevention in WMS360.

FAQ: Inventory Sync & Stock Management

How quickly does stock sync across channels?

Stock updates are pushed to all connected channels within seconds of an order being received.

What happens if two orders come in at the exact same time?

WMS360 processes orders sequentially at the database level. Even if two orders arrive simultaneously, the stock reservation is atomic — preventing double-selling.

Can I see which orders affected my stock?

Yes. Every entry in the Inventory Log includes an Order Reference field that links directly to the order that triggered the stock change.

What is a Reserve activity?

A Reserve is when stock is set aside for an incoming order. The stock is decremented from your available quantity so other channels cannot sell the same unit.

What is Feeder Quantity?

Feeder Quantity automatically tops up your stock level on a specific channel when it drops below a set threshold. Useful for maintaining visibility on high-demand products.

Can I manually adjust stock?

Yes. Manual adjustments appear in the Inventory Log as Adjustment activities with the user who made the change recorded.

What channels does inventory sync support?

WMS360 syncs inventory across eBay, Shopify, OnBuy, Amazon, Wowcher, GoGroopie, Groupon, Fruugo, and more.

Can I export my inventory log?

Yes. Click Export CSV on the Inventory Log page to download all stock movements. Filter by date range, SKU, or activity type before exporting.

What does System mean in the User column?

System means the stock change was triggered automatically by an incoming order or automatic adjustment. Manual changes show the user name.

How do I check if sync is working?

Navigate to Inventory > Inventory Log and look for recent Reserve entries with Order References. If they appear within minutes of channel sales, sync is working correctly.
