How to Create an eBay Listing Profile

Step-by-step guide to creating a reusable eBay listing profile in WMS360. Profiles store your account, category, condition, policies, and shipping settings for quick reuse.

How to Create an eBay Listing Profile

An eBay listing profile saves all your listing settings so you can reuse them every time you list a product. Instead of re-entering the category, condition, policies, and shipping details each time, you select a profile and everything is pre-filled.

Step 1: Navigate to eBay Profiles

Go to eBay in the sidebar, then click Profile. You'll see a list of your existing profiles with columns for Profile Name, Site Name, Category, and Account Name.

Step 2: Click Add eBay Profile

Click the Add eBay Profile button in the top-right corner. A dialog will open with all the profile settings.

Step 3: Select Account and Site

Choose your eBay Account from the dropdown. Then select the eBay Site (marketplace) — for example, UK, US, DE, or AU. This determines which eBay marketplace the profile targets.

Step 4: Set the Condition

Select the item Condition — typically "New with tags", "New without tags", or "Used". This will be applied to every listing that uses this profile.

Step 5: Enter Profile Name and Description

Give your profile a clear Profile Name that helps you identify it later, for example "Mens Tracksuit, New, UK". You can also add an optional Profile Description for extra context.

Step 6: Search and Select a Category

Use the Search Category field to find the right eBay category. Type a keyword (e.g., "mens tracksuit") and results will appear showing the full category path like "Clothes, Shoes & Accessories > Men > Men's Clothing > Activewear > Tracksuits & Sets". Click to select.

You can optionally add a Secondary Category, but note this may incur additional eBay fees.

Step 7: Set Shop Categories

Select Shop Category 1 and Shop Category 2 from the hierarchical dropdown to organise products within your eBay store. For example, select a brand category and a clothing type.

Set International Site Visibility if you want the listing visible on other eBay sites.

Step 8: Configure Listing Settings

  • Gallery Plus — Enable for a larger photo in search results (fees may apply)
  • Private Listing — Hide buyer identity
  • Use Picture — Choose "EPS" (eBay Picture Services) or self-hosted
  • Duration — Typically "Good 'Til Cancelled" for ongoing listings
  • Dispatch Time — How quickly you ship (e.g., "Same Business Day")
  • Templates — Select a listing template for the product description layout

Step 9: Select Business Policies

Choose your pre-configured eBay business policies:

  • Return Policy — e.g., "30 Days Return Policy"
  • Shipment Policy — e.g., "UK 48 24 Special International Standard"
  • Payment Policy — e.g., "eBay Managed Payments (Active)"

Step 10: Set Location Details

  • Country — e.g., "United Kingdom"
  • Location — Your town or city
  • Post Code — Your dispatch post code

Step 11: Save the Profile

Click Add Profile to save. Your new profile will appear in the profile list and is ready to use when listing products on eBay.

Tips

  • Create separate profiles for different product types (e.g., "Mens Trainers NWT", "Women's Dresses Used")
  • Use clear naming conventions so you can quickly identify profiles when listing
  • You can duplicate and edit existing profiles instead of creating from scratch
  • Profiles can be shared across multiple product listings
