How to Create a Multi-Pack Bundle

Create multi-pack bundles in WMS360 to sell bulk quantities of the same product. Set pack quantity and WMS360 calculates available packs automatically.

Quick Answer

A multi-pack sells multiples of the same product as a single listing. Configure it by adding the product as a component and setting the quantity to the pack size (e.g. 5 for a 5-pack).

What is a Multi-Pack?

A multi-pack bundles multiple units of the same SKU into one sellable pack. For example, a "5-Pack of Joggers" means each pack sale uses 5 joggers from your stock. WMS360 divides available stock by the pack quantity to calculate how many packs you can sell.

Step 1: Create the Multi-Pack Variation

Add a variation to your catalogue for the pack. For example, "Jogger 5-Pack" alongside individual "Jogger" variations. The multi-pack variation should have zero stock.

Step 2: Open Configure Bundle

  1. Go to Catalogue and open the catalogue
  2. Find the multi-pack variation row
  3. Click Manage > Configure Bundle

Step 3: Add the Component

  1. Search for the individual product SKU (e.g. "Jogger")
  2. Click to add it — it appears with a default quantity of 1

Step 4: Set the Pack Quantity

This is the key step:

  1. Click the Qty field on the component row
  2. Change the quantity to your pack size (e.g. 5 for a 5-pack)
  3. The Calculated Bundle Stock updates immediately

Formula: Available Packs = Component Stock ÷ Pack Quantity

Example: 24 joggers in stock ÷ 5 per pack = 4 packs available

Step 5: Save Configuration

Click Save Configuration. The multi-pack now shows calculated stock on the catalogue page.

Use Cases for Multi-Packs

  • Wholesale / B2B: Sell bulk quantities at a discounted price
  • Economy packs: Offer value packs to retail customers
  • Subscription packs: Monthly supply packs (e.g. 30-day supply)

Important Notes

  • The pack quantity determines how many individual items are consumed per sale
  • Stock is always managed on the individual component SKU, not the pack
  • If you have 24 items and a 5-pack, you get 4 packs (24 ÷ 5 = 4, rounded down)
  • The remaining 4 individual items are still available for individual sale
